It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and get a sense of how I work, so we can determine whether working together feels like the right fit.

What is art therapy?

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses creative expression as a tool for healing, self-discovery, and emotional processing. It combines traditional therapeutic conversation with art-making to help access thoughts, feelings, and experiences that can sometimes be difficult to express through words alone.

Art therapy can support insight, emotional regulation, trauma processing, and deeper self-understanding. The creative process often helps bring awareness to patterns, emotions, and inner experiences in a way that feels more intuitive and accessible.

Do I need to be “good at art” to benefit from art therapy?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. Art therapy is not about artistic skill or creating something “good.” It’s about using creative expression as a way to access emotions, experiences, and parts of yourself that can sometimes be difficult to put into words. No prior art experience is needed.

Where do you offer sessions?

I offer secure telehealth sessions for clients located throughout California and New York, allowing for flexible and accessible support from wherever you feel most comfortable.

I also offer in-person sessions in West Hollywood for clients who prefer to meet face-to-face.
Whether we work together virtually or in person, my goal is to create a warm, supportive space where you feel safe to explore, reflect, and heal.

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of safety and trust. We’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any questions or concerns you may have about the process.

We’ll also begin exploring how creative expression may support your healing journey, if that feels relevant for you. This can include discussing how art therapy works and how creative practices might help deepen self-understanding, emotional processing, and insight.

There is no pressure to share everything right away or engage creatively before you’re ready. We move at a pace that feels safe, collaborative, and supportive of your unique process.
